25. What Goes Around - Justin Timberlake (14)

Really, these lists only keep track of songs you actually finish, not songs you actually play (which explains why Chris Cornell made the no. 2 spot). I've listened to other songs way more than some of these songs, I just never finish them because I either: a) skip to a new one or b) "bring it back"* to relisten before the song is done. Songs like Tenacious D's that are only 2 minutes will obviously have an easier time making the list than say, Leonard Bernstein conducting Beethoven's 9th.** I would also like to say that I'm very proud to welcome the man who shares my initials to the top 25. What Goes Around is February's "Mamba Jamba Of Awesome"tm.

Oh, and if there's anyone who gets my title tag line reference I will literally fall our of my chair.

*much like the New York Rap the beastie boys told us about.
** "Master Exploder" will be the best 2 minutes you've ever spent listening to music.

Now You've Just Gone Too Far.

Wow I hate feet. Like, I mean I really REALLY hate feet.

I guess that's why this is so funny.

'Bout as funny as a punch in the face (which actually can be quite funny depending on what side of the fist you find yourself).

School House, School House, School House ROCK!

Acoustic thunder was wrought upon the Bogani Cafe late Saturday evening! Well, not particularily, but good times were certainly had by all (the band included). The setting was pretty low key and the room was actually pretty tough. There was a lot of clutter noise and conversation going on but once we ripped through KT Tunstall's version of The Jackson 5's I Want You Back* we got everyone's attention pretty quick. I found performing music to be a lot easier than leading worship music but it's probably just a personal thing that's different with everyone.

I wish you were there.

I want to leave you all with something great tonight. So I give you one of the greatest...

*Watch this and learn. Stand and be amazed.

The More You Know!

For anyone reading in the local Edmonton area who has nothing better to do on a Saturday night (I know there's more of you that you'll admit to) my acoustic band is playing a small 30 minute set at Bogani's Cafe @ 8pm for a charity fundraiser. We decided to just do covers last night at rehearsals and we ended up writing some pretty good stuff. Come out for a sweet acoustic surprise.

It'll be like getting punched in the face with a fist full of awesome.

Lately I'm A Desperate Believer...

I've been waiting for this song for a long time now and today it seems all the more special. There's only a few bands that I actually feel this strongly about and Silverchair is right at the top. I own more than my share of albums and DVD's and even a very special live DVD/CD recording that was only available in Australia, and everything associated with this band has a really special and intimate association. Today just adds to that.

It's going to be a good day.
